Australian television is producing some of the hottest television drama on TV right now and The Principal is no exception! This show contains just 4 episodes, but within those 4 episodes is an intense drama that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The Principal is about a teacher that gets promoted to being the principal of a violent Boys’ school in Sydney’s South-West suburbs. This new principal has a radical approach of how to change the school that no one else seems to care about. Unfortunately, his approach to education will leave him exposed to some dangerous consequences.
Just when it seems like Principal Matt Bashir is making progress, a 17 year-old boy is found dead behind the school. Things only get worse from there and it leads to some pretty shocking moments. Although one of the best things about this show is its pulse pounding drama, the other shining point is the fact that it has such a culturally diverse cast. The cast is made up of Muslims, Africans, Asians and other ethnic groups. Unlike most American television, the cast looks like what a real world suburban school would look like. From the teachers to the students, every character looks like a real person and that’s what makes the viewing experience so rich.
Saying anymore about the plot line would be giving too much away so, this is a show you must watch to get the full scope of it. The show is currently streaming on Netflix and since it’s just 4 episodes long it makes for a very short, but exciting, binge watching experience.
