Chopped Junior is exactly what it sounds like: Chopped, but with kids instead of adults. With Chopped Junior, the contestants range from ages 9-15 and are given the same challenge the adults are given – utilize a mystery basket of ingredients in a meal to be judged by professional chefs and food critics. The winner of each competition gets a $10,000 prize and recognition as an up-and-coming culinary force to be reckoned with. The only difference in Chopped Junior, as opposed to the adult version is that while both versions give the contestants 30 minutes for the entrée and dessert rounds, the junior contestants are given an extra 10 minutes for the appetizer round, bringing each round to 30 minutes to impress the judges.
